In the heart of Piazza Aldo Moro, the Parish Church of Santa Maria Assunta dominates the panorama with its elegant neoclassical façade. Rich in history and spirituality, this place of worship is a point of reference for the Manerba community.
In front of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta is Piazza Aldo Moro, in the centre of which stands the Monument to the Fallen, built in 1921, an elegant obelisk in white marble by Botticino on a base with five steps. The obelisk’s base is adorned with refined grey stone reliefs and features commemorative inscriptions in memory of the fallen from Manerba.
At the top of the obelisk is a wrought iron decoration. Two bronze plaques are placed on the front side – one shows the Victory Bulletin and the other depicts a scene of mourning. After the Second World War, the monument was updated with the addition of the names of the fallen in WWII.
